With over 40 years of experience working with dogs, Helen is the heart and soul of Barkington Spa.
From her early days at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to grooming champion show dogs, her passion and expertise are unmatched.
Helen specialises in breed-specific styling and compassionate grooming for dogs of all ages and temperaments.
Known for her calm nature and attention to detail, she builds trust with even the most nervous of pups.
Whether it’s a simple tidy-up or a full groom, Helen ensures every dog leaves happy, confident, and beautifully turned out.
At home, she shares her life with a beautiful pack of Standard Poodles—each with their own story.
From Sindragosa, a retired show champion, to playful Morse who never lets having three legs slow him down, and gentle Pixie, the nurturing matriarch of the pack, Helen’s dogs are her pride and joy.
They’re not just family—they’re the inspiration behind Barkington Spa’s calm, compassionate approach to grooming.
Maddy
Client Care & Prep Specialist
Maddy brings over 15 years of hospitality management experience to Barkington Spa. Ensuring every client — human and canine — receives exceptional care.
From first contact to collection, Maddy keeps everything running smoothly, manages bookings, and makes sure every dog gets a perfect bath, blow dry, and cuddle before their groom.
She’s also the friendly face behind the spa’s social media, showcasing each transformation with a personal touch.
A lifelong dog lover, Maddy is proud to work alongside her Mother, Helen, building a spa that feels more like a second home for the dogs they care for.
At her side is her beloved dog: Evie, a mischievous apricot Miniature Poodle who rules the roost despite her small size.
